“You know the deal... it’s January and you’re thinking maybe this is the year you’ll actually stick to a New Years resolution and get in shape. I was fortunate that the guy behind the desk at the gym was too busy to show me around the day I went to join. He handed me to Scott and it’s no exaggeration to say that that changed my life. I was 131kg (about 20 st 9 lbs). I’d always been big. I never liked sport unless it was on the tv. I’d been to gyms before but used to spend 30 mins on a cross trainer and have a go on a few weights machines. I had no idea what I was doing. My first 30 min session with Scott was hell, but it was only 30 mins. I could do this twice a week. So I kept it up. Scott didn’t pile on pressure too soon. He used to be a big guy too so I think he understood where I was coming from. He pushed me just enough to make me feel exhausted but good at the same time. Weight was coming off before we even started talking about diet and even that wasn’t as scary as I was expecting. I went from a 38” to 34” jeans size in less than a year, losing pretty much 40 kgs in the process. Having someone take you through a process is invaluable. Goals felt achievable, sessions were kept fresh, never boring. There’s no ego with Scott. He knows just how hard to push you without you never wanting to see him again. Not only that but he’s a thoroughly nice guy and I miss our sessions. If I hadn’t have moved abroad, I’d still be training with him. Top guy, top trainer!”

I saw Scott for two, hour long sessions as I had pulled a muscle in my groin. Scott was very professional, personable and knowledgeable. “I had never thought of getting a personal trainer until after my tester session with Scott. I've signed up to various gyms mostly because it was something "everyone" seemed to be doing, yet every time I would head to a gym I would usually stick to the same boring exercises simply because I had no clue what else I could do...and don't even start talking about the many machines in there! Scott has definitely helped me realise that a gym is an amazing space for personal development and growth regarding your physical aspirations. Sometimes you just have to be a little bit creative when it comes to working out and not making it seem like such a repetitive and dull activity.
Scott is without doubt very good at making every workout both physically challenging and fun at the same time. It certaintly also helps that he is a very approachable and easygoing person who knows how to be a friend and a professional trainer at the same time. He could very easily adapt to my personal needs. I myself had always been interested in boxing so Scott made the effort to obtain some (very) good boxing techniques and within just a few weeks we had our first boxing session, which was incredibly cool!
Whilst I was studying at university, I basically had to sit down and study quite a lot, hence I would always look forward to that 1 hour of fun workout while sweating all the stress out. It will be tough to find a trainer at my new gym who is as sincere and down to earth as Scott is.”
